In order to compete with the Burka Avenger, a new popular childrens cartoon that promotes education for girls, the Taliban has launched their own animated series. The protagonist, Child Puncher, seeks to cure the Women and Children of his village who have been poisoned by educationtonite. Child Puncher, according to a Taliban spokesperson, uses his "punching-in-the-face-power," to help everyone, "even Chinese people."
During a private screening for children, however, Child Puncher didn't seem to catch on. Imran, a 12-year-old boy, commented, "His mouth didn't move when he spoke." A Taliban spokes person defended the cartoon saying that the children clearly didn't understand their post-modern, avant-garde animation style. The spokes person also claimed, the children had been, "brain washed," by Western superheroes like The Green Lantern and Aqua man who clearly, "supported homosexuality and wearing skinny jenns— whatever that means."
